I joined Aston University in 2015 as an undergraduate student on the first run of the Applied Physics Programme. For me it has been an excellent journey in learning and I’ve thoroughly benefited from taught modules led by active researchers at AIPT. At Aston, access to research activity is facilitated and often encouraged by staff. In my case, I started a research placement in 2017 in the Surface Nanoscale Axial Photonics lab and worked on a project investigating methods of fabrication of microresonators.
I’m also currently working as a teaching assistant for Foundation Year students in mathematics and have contributed to developing the physics labs for Foundation Year students as well. Of course, my focus at the moment is on completing my degree programme however as I plan to continue at AIPT my current research interests are in modelling SNAP structures and applications such as implementing dispersionless optical delay lines.
